In June 2017, Paddington Station were in need of a state-of-the-art integrated lighting system for their new customer waiting area.
TES Electrical Solutions were instructed by SEE to undertake the project works for the historic station.
Over the course of 8 project months, TES Electrical Solutions worked alongside SEE rail and Cross rail electrical staff to help develop and install the following works:
Before the project installation got underway, we completed comprehensive method statements, methodology reports and risk assessments in order to ensure all our engineers knew what was required, when and how; in the safest possible way.
Through an effective and collaborative effort, we successfully installed the new lighting system and requirement works (CCTV, smoke detection etc). All the new electrical wiring was stored in containment conduit and cable trays for ideal safety standards and ease of access for any potential future project works.
The works was not without its challenges, however. We had to shut down the platform where the waiting room was built to replace 3 phase fuse boards. However, this was conducted out of hours in order to not disrupt customer travel. Our engineers consulted both SEE rail and Cross rail engineers throughout the entire works, highlighting our commitment to efficient and proper ways of working.
Following the entire project installation, we conducted proper testing, inspection and commissioning of the works. This information was immediately fed back to the client, who expressed their satisfaction at the project completion within a timely manner and quality of work.
